RACC students raise more than $10,000 to aid Safe Berks
As part of the college’s annual RACCy Olympics fund-raiser, seven student clubs raised $10,001.39 to assist this year’s designated charity, Safe Berks.
The students participated in a variety of fun games in the Student Union Building, including a beach ball squeeze, hula hoop, and cup ball competition.
Kimberly Uphold, student life coordinator, presented prizes to the top team and individual fundraisers.
Francine M. Scoboria, communications coordinator for Safe Berks, expressed gratitude when accepting the check and said the funds will be used to construct a new playground to benefit children receiving services.
Formerly Berks Women in Crisis, Safe Berks provides a safe haven and ongoing support system for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
