On October 12th, 2017 RACC’s Phi Beta Kappa and Student Affairs held a Mental Health Awareness Fair in the Schmidt Technology and Training Center.

Over 15 different organizations came together to spread awareness about mental health and to share the numerous ways one can get help or help others. In addition, techniques for mindfulness and relaxation were taught along with art therapy and animal therapy.

The purpose of the Mental Health Awareness Fair was to help break the stigma surrounding mental health. The fair provided students the ability to actively seek help or knowledge in a safe environment. The event was a great success with a big student turn out.

Organizations involved included: Berkshire Psychiatric, Caron Treatment Centers, COCA ,
Concern Counseling Services, Family Guidance Center, Greater Reading Mental Health
Alliance, Lebanon VA, NAMI : Berks Chapter, Progressions, Reading Health
Systems, Red Cross, Safe & Sound Counseling, TASC, United Way, Miller Center for the Arts.
